Brown Haired Girl
Got up in the morning and I walked to the park before noon
thought I’d be late but I got there much too soon
The sun was shining on the lake that day
the flowers were all in bloom
You were holding hands with a brown haired girl
Wore my pink dress white tights and saddle shoes
My hair was up in barretts couldn’t wait to tell you the news
I walked home throught the puddles got mud on my saddle shoes
Took off my tights was back in bed before noon
This here’s the story of when I up much soon
Now I know better and sleep through the after noon
The sun maybe still shine on the lake some days
